Yahn Janou graduated in 1992 from Art Center College of Design with a bachelor of science in automobile design. Since 1993, he paints exclusively racing cars and racing scenes, and aims to capture the excitement of the pits, the qualifying, the final moments before the start… His intention is to convey the exuberance of the teams and the intensity of the connection between man and machine. In his own words: ‘The racing car is at the center of my work, it represents power, speed, technology, elegance, and, in being unique, exclusivity. The tendency of some of my work towards abstraction reflects a choice to communicate the emotion of the moment rather than to simply reproduce reality.’
He exhibits regularly both in Europe and in the United States at major international events like Pebble Beach, Goodwood, Cavallino Classic, Essen and Rétromobile.
He has also created posters for various important events like The 24 Hours of Le Mans and has worked for a number of major car makers like Ferrari, Audi and BMW.
