How did you get into cars?
I’ve developed my passion for cars quite early. As a child, I was into arts and liked to draw. We had a friend of a family who was an artist he used to come to our house and sketch something for me. Just a quick pen doodles. Watching him draw was a mesmerizing experience. He would leave me with a picture of an old Cadillac with huge tail fins or a race car rushing through the track. I’m Karolis Mikolenas and I was born in 1992 in a small city of Lithuania, named Panevezys. My curiosity about cars started at a young age, so I started to draw them by hand. After that, I got interested by computer graphic and transferred my drawing skills to the virtual space. Now I’m living and working in Vilnius and at my free time I do what I want – I’m living in automotive culture. This is where I get the inspiration for my cars and art.
Upon leaving school, Joel took a job designing and making vinyl stickers for race teams, with a Sign maker based at the circuit. This is where he learnt the skill of ‘hand-cutting’ vinyl. However Joel soon decided to go to Art College and 6 years later, left to pursue a career as a Creative in Advertising – working in some of the world’s biggest agencies. Continue Reading
His passion for art began at a tender age when he began experimenting with different forms of art. He soon developed an innate love for cars and motorbikes. This passion drove him towards concept art and finally towards the design industry.
