LaFerrari means The Ferrari, hence the ultimate Ferrari. This Ferrari LaFerrari art is showing a moment of its transformation from plain design sketch to the first hybrid-powered car made in Maranello.
LaFerrari art deserves red
Even though some of the 500 examples of LaFerrari were built in different colors, our feel is like this car should be painted in red. Red like Rosso Corsa. This is how 953 hp should be made visible. Above all things, project name F150 as it is also known is the most valuable 21st-century car ever sold at auction. Ferrari donated the 500th example of LaFerrari for a charity auction where it reached the astonishing price of $7 million.
This car is a piece of engineering magic with its 6.3-liter V12 which revs to 9250 rpm and produces 789 hp which makes it the most potent non-turbo piston engine mounted in a production car. On top of this, there is an electric motor capable of 161 hp which results in 963 hp in total and combined torque of 900 Nm directed to the rear wheels.
Active aerodynamic kits? Check. Carbon fiber monocoque? Check. Magnetorheological damping with twin solenoids? Check. F1 traction control integrated with the KERS hybrid system? Check. Carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes? Check. But none of this features is capable of suggesting the eternal beauty its design is emitting in the atmosphere.
LaFerrari was designed under the direction of Flavio Manzoni in Ferrari Centro Stile making it the first Ferrari since Bertone-styled Dino 308 GT4 not to have Pininfarina design or bodywork. It is a rare exception to the collaboration between Ferrari and Pininfarina that began in 1951. Witnessing the result we shouldn’t feel spoilt.
