Mercedes-Benz SL Gullwing art print by Łukasz Myszynski.

Carefully produced with our giclée process to maximize color accuracy and resolution. At Simply Petrol, we use the highest-quality Hahnemühle fine art paper (315 gsm) with delicate texture and acid-free surface.

Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed to saturate the fibers of the watercolor paper, resulting in pure, rich color and remarkable detail.

Since the inception of the car where Mercedes-Benz was more than just involved, the three-point star created many significant cars. This Mercedes-Benz SL Gullwing art is dedicated to one of them. The car with the wings, 300 SL or W198, as you prefer. Among its technical novelties, unusual doors, and spectacular competition performance, the Gullwing stand out with its sheer elegance. This is what a gifted car artist as Łukasz Myszynski have kept and represented in his latest Mercedes-Benz SL Gullwing art.

This Mercedes-Benz SL Gullwing art is spreading its beautiful wings

It was the fastest car of its time with a top speed of 161 mph equal to 259 kmh. Quite a few of the modern everyday cars are capable of such speed but back in the day, it was a record breaker. The Gullwing was really tricky to drive due to its swing-axle rear suspension, add the period correct drum brakes and you`ll found yourself in a thriller you`d like to survive.

The 300 SL was an extreme technical achievement but the fact it exists at all is the most amazing one. The racecar from which it was derived was built just a few years after the end of WWII and Mercedes had to be convinced by its United States importer to build a road car at all. We are glad that they got his arguments, accompanied with an order for 500 of a 300 SL road cars.

The car was based on Le Mans and Carrera Panamericana winner and some consider it as the world`s first ever supercar. We would not jump in an argument whether it is the Gullwing or Lamborghini Miura but they both had what it takes – technological achievements, incredible exclusivity, high speed and price tag accessible just for the rich and famous.

This Mercedes is a car driven by most prominent pilots in its era. Sir Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio, John Fitch and Paul O`Shea to name a few. By the way, Sir Moss holds “forever” course record for his famous Mille Miglia finish in 1955 by becoming the first and only Briton to win the Mille Miglia outright.

These are the main ingredients of this car and this is what fueled Łukasz Myszynski to spread out his talent to this beautiful and inspiring Mercedes-Benz SL Gullwing art. Make it yours now to get inspired by its always waved wings.
