Imagine sitting behind the wheel of the finest incarnation of classic XK coupe series of Jaguar. Touching the fine leader dashboard and keeping an eye on the Jag`s leaping cat mascot, sculpted by Frederick Gordon Crosby – one of the best British motoring illustrators of the first half of XX century.
Welcome at Jaguar XK150 – the E-Type predecessor and the final XK evolution. This was the answer from Coventry of spectacular sports coupes coming from BMW with their 507 and Mercedes-Benz with the 300 SL. Late 50`s was time for fierce competition and Jaguar made a spectacular proposal. XK 150 was heavily based on Jaguar XK140. It gets improved everything including interior, exterior, brakes, wheels and last but not least – engine. Power outputs were between 190 and 265 hp, depending on the version. They were enough to get max speed as of 217 km/h and acceleration from 0 – 100 km/h for 7.0 seconds. Remember, this happened in late 50`s.
