Porsche 917 LH Speed Record poster print

This naive yet beautiful poster design is dedicated to Porsche 917 LH - one of the scariest monsters in endurance racing that broke all the speed records at the 24 Hours of Le Mans without ever managing to win the race. The measured top speed  of 396,004 km/h was achieved by Jackie Oliver during a night practice at Le Mans in 1971. This way he managed to shadow his famous co-driver Pedro Rodriguez. Even though 917 LH (langheck, German for ‘’long tail’’) Porsches were fast as hell, they wasn’t so successful at the Le Mans finish in season `71. The cup was taken away by Helmut Marko and Gijs van Lennep and their short tailed Porsche 917 with magnesium chassis. They completed 397 laps, which set a new distance record for Le Mans with 5335.3 km.
