Among all delightful Porsches, this one is truly special. The Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS art we are sharing with you here is emitting the aggression of a proper homologation model. Porsche created this particular modification in order to ensure its motorsports involvement. The first stack of 500 was sold within a week during the Carrera 2.7 RS debut within Paris Motor Show.
Unbelievably, this homologation Porsche was created to beat the motorsport release of Ferrari Daytona and DeTomaso Pantera, both relying on significantly bigger engines than the tiny 911`s air-cooled 6-cylinder boxers did.
Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS had 210 hp extracted with the help of increased engine volume and mechanical fuel injection provided by Bosch. The body was stripped down for lightness and fenders widened to be capable of accommodating the larger wheels. Stiffer suspension and bigger brakes were added for genuine go-kart feel. This racing inspired composition of mechanical brilliance was garnished with the first ever duck-tail spoiler and the first ever RS title.
