There is just one Ford that was better than a Ferrari and this is it. Ford GT40 slapped not just the pranking horses but even the almighty Porsche 917 in its early ears. The story behind this car is pretty interesting as it is born of the failure of carefully planned Ferrari acquisition by Ford. After Enzo Ferrari halted the talks, Henry Ford decided to build a Ferrari beater. Ford GT40 was born and did exactly that in a truly spectacular fashion. This car was driven by racing legends like Jacky Ickx, Bruce McLaren and Dan Gurney and all of them have won the 24 Heures du Mans race behind the wheel of a GT40. The notorious and vibrant Gulf livery is the color scheme that made the car instant crowd pleaser. It is interesting that the cars in Gulf colors are produced by J.W. Automotive Engineering named Mirage M1 racing cars. Now you can own this piece of motorsport history as beautiful art print, created by Sebastiano Giarca.
