This beautiful Porsche 959 poster tells the story of a unique car. It is designed to beat the incredible Ferrari F40 and quickly becomes the most technologically advanced car of its time. Hey, 3.6 sec. acceleration is still impressive even today.

This Porsche 959 poster is about boldness and 80`s technology

Back in early 80`s the chief engineer of Porsche Helmuth Bott manages to convince the then new CEO of the company Peter Schutz that the brand needs a new kind of 911. At this time the Group B rallying is a huge sensation and Schultz gives the Group B Porsche a green light. The race car debutes at the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show and the road version two years later. A few issues delay the production with more than a year. Production ends in 1988 with 337 vehicles built, including 37 prototypes.

Porsche 959 is the enhanced version of the 911. Porsche wants to develop and put all new technologies in the 959 so the development process takes too long. The car misses the opportunity to join the monstrous Group B rally cars. The racing validation needs to take place somewhere else. What can be better than the Paris – Dakar rally, which unlike WRC doesn't have homologation requirements. It wins the 1986 edition of the desert raid and takes the first, second and sixth positions.

Michal Wojtaszek

Born and raised in Poland, my lifelong passion for cars and automobile design led me to study Transportation Design at Pforzheim University in Germany. Since graduation, I've worked as a freelance designer for esteemed clients in the automobile industry, including Qoros Auto, Bentley Motors, and Mercedes-Benz AMG. During my studies, I had the privilege of a year-long internship and Master Thesis project at the Porsche Advanced Design Studio in Weissach.

This transformative experience fulfilled my dream of professional car design and equipped me with extensive knowledge for future projects. I believe that understanding the rich heritage and history of automobiles is crucial for shaping the vehicles of tomorrow. Inspired by classic cars that mark significant milestones in automotive development, I express my passion through a series of digital sketches. Each artwork aims to capture the unique character of these influential cars, experimenting with colors and techniques to enhance their defining features. I
