The Bronco was initially conceived as a compact off-road vehicle, marking Ford's foray into the SUV market. Donald Frey and Lee Iacocca, the brains behind the Ford Mustang project, were instrumental in bringing the Bronco to life. What set the Bronco apart was its unique dedicated platform, unlike the Mustang, and its shorter wheelbase, making it highly maneuverable for off-road adventures and various work-related tasks.

1972 Ford Bronco Vintage ad

In its prime, purchasing a Bronco offered more than just a vehicle; it was an opportunity to customize your ride with optional extras such as an auxiliary gas tank, power take-off, snowplow, winch, and post hole digger.

The Ford Bronco from the first generation remains iconic for its exceptional off-road capabilities, comparable even to modern off-road vehicles. It was built to endure tough conditions, earning it a substantial fan base in the USA. Today, the '66 to '77 Broncos are considered valuable collectibles, commanding a high price due to their scarcity, as many owners are reluctant to part with these enduring off-road legends.
