This Ford Mustang art print draws inspiration from one of the most celebrated car chase scenes in cinema history, featuring the iconic Ford Mustang GT driven by Steve McQueen in Bullitt. In this depiction, Steve McQueen skillfully maneuvers the legendary Mustang through the streets of San Francisco's Russian Hill and onto the highway, showcasing the film's famous car chase scene. The chase concludes with the Mustang forcing the Dodge Charger R/T off the road and into a gas station. The Bullitt movie gained acclaim for its extensive use of actual locations, and the director utilized the then-new lightweight Arriflex cameras to achieve greater flexibility in location shooting, making such dynamic car chase scenes possible.

The green Mustang driven by Steve McQueen is a 1968 GT fastback model with a manual 4-speed transmission and a V8 engine capable of producing 325 hp. Two green Mustangs were featured in Bullitt; one was scrapped immediately after filming, and the other was purchased by a Warner Bros employee. Steve McQueen attempted to locate and purchase the latter, but it seemingly vanished. Recently, it resurfaced in a junkyard in Mexico, spotted by a local Ford expert searching for the next Mustang movie star—Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds. The authenticity of the Bullitt Mustang was confirmed through VIN numbers, marking a remarkable rediscovery.
