Founded in 1904 by a Spanish businessman and a Swiss engineer, Hispano-Suiza crafted cars exclusively for the rich and famous. The Spanish king, Alfonso, himself owned approximately 20 Hispano-Suiza cars. During World War I, the company thrived by manufacturing aircraft engines, and this aviation success significantly influenced their post-war car designs. Notably, the Hispano-Suiza H6, produced between 1919 and 1933, showcased a luxurious chassis, with its sports version gaining prominence in races such as Targa Florio and Boulogne, piloted by Andre Dubonnet. Simultaneously, the Hispano-Suiza H6 shattered eight international records, including achieving an average speed of 148 km/h over a 480 km distance at Brooklands.

Enter Andre Dubonnet, the man behind the creation of the one-of-a-kind masterpiece, the Hispano-Suiza Xenia Dubonnet. This rolling sculpture seamlessly blends avant-garde innovation with aesthetics, embodying the essence of automotive art deco in its teardrop form. An exceptionally gifted inventor, Dubonnet commissioned a special Hispano-Suiza H6 chassis to showcase his new capsuled springs suspension. The bodywork was entrusted to Saoutchik's coach-building atelier, emphasizing aerodynamics and aesthetics. As always, Saoutchik delivered, creating an epitome of automotive art deco with the Hispano-Suiza Xenia Dubonnet.
