Lancia Delta HF Group A is the dream of any rally maniac. The ’80s and ’90s kids, or the WRC rewinds watchers know that no one can beat the record of the car up to this day.

Some of the younger car fans would probably scratch their heads after hearing Lancia, WRC, and legend in a single sentence. Lancia’s former glory is history. The same happens with most of the Italian mass car manufacturing. There is some success in the recent years with the Fiat 500, Fiat 124 and the Alfa-Romeo Giulia, but there is no resemblance to the good old days.

This car right here is the most successful model in rallying. Lancia holds the most constructor’s championships titles (also consecutive) in the period 1987-1992. That's a good start, having in mind the Italians come from Group B.

Here are some more numbers. The total amount of WRC victories is 46. The drivers championships titles are four with drivers Juha Kankkunen (1987, 1991) and Miki Biasion (1988, 1989).

A total of four different model variations are in use from 1987 until 1992. These are Lancia Delta HF 4WD, Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v and Lancia Delta HF Integrale "Evo". There are a couple of one-offs too. One of them is the open-top Delta Spyder, built for the FIAT president Gianni Agnelli. There is also the Evo 3, which is a third evolution of the famous rally car with even more Italian sporting tricks.
